Travel Diaries: Kinderdjik, Netherlands

Day 10 – Kinderdijk, The Netherlands

The morning was spent sailing through the rainy Netherlands to Kinderdijk, where we had an afternoon tour of the beautiful windmills. It was (appropriately) very windy and our guide was amazing. We climbed up into one of the windmills, and saw how they worked and how their living quarters were set up. (I should have taken more photos inside.) It looked so cozy, I don’t think I would mind living in a windmill…

(Since this is a UNESCO heritage site, there is pretty much only the windmills and a cafe/souvenir shop here.)

Our last night on the Sigyn… so sad to leave! We sailed on towards our final port of Amsterdam and went up to the top deck after dinner while the ship was going through a lock, which was fascinating.
